United States Coffee in AI search — FAQ

Which coffee brand does AI recommend most in the US?

In our latest scan, Stumptown Coffee Roasters has the highest AI Visibility Score (21/100), meaning the AI assistants name it most often when shoppers ask for a coffee recommendation in the US. 0 of the 22 brands we track currently score 76 or above.

How is the AI Visibility Score calculated?

We ask four AI assistants — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity — the buyer questions people actually type, such as "best coffee in the US?". Each brand's 0–100 score reflects how often and how prominently it is named across those answers. It is an editorial measure of AI visibility, not a paid placement and not a rating of the coffee itself.

Why are some coffee brands not recommended by AI?

AI assistants tend to repeat a small set of well-documented names, so brands with thin websites, little third-party coverage or no structured product data often get left out — no matter how good their coffee is. 22 of the 22 brands here currently score under 32 ("Invisible"). It's usually fixable with clearer, more machine-readable content.

How often is this leaderboard updated?

Scores refresh as we re-scan the AI engines; the most recent update shown here is 5 Aug 2026. The ▲▼ movement column compares each brand's latest scan with the one before it.

How we measure which brands AI recommends

Every brand on this page is scanned across four AI assistants using the same buyer questions a real United States shopper would ask. We record whether each engine names the brand, how prominently, and which rivals it recommends instead, then combine that into a single 0–100 AI Visibility Score. We don't take payment to move a brand up the ranking — the only way to climb is to become genuinely easier for the AIs to understand and cite. Brands can claim their listing to see exactly which questions and engines they're missing.
